This is an exciting time to join Aptiv as part of the UK Commercial team, as we identify and deliver EDS product line growth opportunities with our key customer accounts. In this role, you will manage a team of Account Managers and lead all aspects of the commercial agenda with your internal stakeholders and key customer accounts, in order to deliver world-class service, whilst securing long term profitable growth.

You will develop business-winning strategies and be comfortable building customer relationships, with a strong focus on customer experience and partnership. You'll thrive in the preparation and presentation of complex quotations, you will be a successful and proven negotiator on price and complex contracts. Delivering against the business objectives for EDS product line, you will also support the quality, program and engineering teams in your business pursuit.

Your Role

  • Build the relationship with your customers, understand their business needs, strategic growth plans, technology roadmap and position Aptiv to be a partner of choice, whilst ensuring close alignment to other Aptiv product groups.

  • Lead and develop the commercial strategy and sales activity related to securing business opportunities, RFQ activity and maximizing content per vehicle.

  • Support the commercial decision-making agenda across the EDS portfolio through an objective cost data-driven process.

  • Support the complete account management function from RFQ to EOL / After-market requirements.

  • An integral part of the internal gate-approval process, you will drive cross-functional activities to deliver long-term sustainable margins.

  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders and customers to track and manage open commercial topics, with strong focus on problem resolution, and cost/claim recovery. Interface with the internal teams to feed critical commercial data into the business planning process.

  • Track and report KPIs specific to the commercial function.

  • Support internal reporting, process compliance, methods and procedures.

  • Ensure continuous improvement and IATF 16949 compliance.

Your Background

  • You’ll have a technical related degree or equivalent experience, and an interest in applying commercial principles, concepts, theory, and practice.

  • Having worked in the automotive manufacturing sector, and specifically in EDS, you will have proven experience of managing complex / large system commercial projects and be skilled in managing commercial discussions.

  • You’ll be comfortable formulating strategies and making business-critical decisions, applying data analysis skills and business acumen.

  • You will thrive in a dynamic environment where you can really make a difference to the customer experience. 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels is vital in this role, as is the ability to manage and deliver projects.
